What Is Fuel Monitoring?
Fuel monitoring in FairDeal's system is a calculated figure. You set each vehicle's fuel efficiency (for example, kilometres per litre), and the system works out estimated fuel usage from the distance its GPS tracker records.
Because it's based on distance rather than a sensor in the tank, it shows estimated usage, not measured fuel levels. It doesn't detect refuelling, fuel removal, or fuel burned while idling.
That's still enough to budget fuel by vehicle, compare vehicles like for like, and question mileage that doesn't add up, without any extra hardware.

Is this actual fuel consumption?
No. It's an estimate calculated from distance and the fuel efficiency you set for each vehicle. It isn't read from the fuel tank.
Do I need a fuel sensor?
No. Fuel usage is calculated from distance, so it needs nothing beyond the GPS tracker.
Can it detect fuel theft or refuelling?
No. Because usage is calculated from distance, it can't see fuel being added to or removed from the tank.
How accurate is the estimate?
It's only as accurate as the efficiency figure you set. Real consumption varies with load, driving style, traffic and air-conditioning use, so treat it as a planning and comparison figure.
Can I use it alongside fuel cards?
Yes. Comparing fuel card statements with estimated usage is a useful sanity check on spend.
Can I see trips by driver?
